Run the setup MSI again, should have a repair and remove box...
Did you try to uninstall it from Add and Remove Programs?
Right click on ';start'; button. search for ';avast';. Delete any that are found. Empty recycle bin. Restart.

First try to see if the battery is full.
If that doesn't work, try to see if it can work with a different controller, if you don't have a controller, maybe your friends do.

TV-VCR switch button on remote control,anyone know why pushing that key on the remote doesn't switch..........?
the TV back and forth like it should, is there something I should be hooking up different or some setting that gets it to work like that? If my question is unclear just ask me and I'll try to be as clear as I can, I have 2 rooms with devices hooked up with VCR's and when I hit my TV-VCR button or TV-Video Button the TV will switch back to being able to operate one or the other and allowing recording, but I tried to hook up a friends TV and that button wouldn't do the switch back and forth, don't know what to do to get it to work, PLEASE Help!

if the remote is a universal unit you probably have the wrong tv codes entered into it. Some codes will work for some functions but not all. see if the remote has an auto setup. also, this a long shot, but i have run into it a few times now, is their lights in the room that are using cfl bulbs (energy efficient fluorescent) as they can interfear with the signal from the remote (Try remote with lights turned off!) This sounds funny but sometimes just the positioning of such lights and their reflectionc cause remotes to work weird.

No, the time warner cable remotes can be programmed to your tv, however that will only function turning the TV on and off and controlling the volume. Anything else you would need to do such as changing the component source you would need to use your TV remote for. Sorry!

Start button not working, control panel blank, the dependency service or group failed to start?
Hello, my vista laptop (hp pavilion entertainment pc) that I was using today suddenly froze. I tried using Ctrl+Alt+Delete, but I ended up having to turn off the computer by holding the power button down. After I turned on the computer again, my laptop wouldn't connect to the internet, and when I tried clicking the network icon on my system tray, it said that ';the dependency service or group failed to start.';
I tried clicking on the start menu, but nothing happened when i clicked it. Also, when I used the start menu button on my keyboard, there was no response. Many things on my computer are either not working or appearing blank (Control panel is blank, cannot use Run, Computer comes up blank). My connection does not work either, so i tried using sfc /scannow from the command prompt as an administrator, but during the verification, it said that the Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation. I fixed my start menu by switching it to classic view, but I still need help on that as I don't want to keep it in classic view forever. Over the past few weeks, my computer has been freezing occasionally.
Please answer/help if you can; I greatly appreciate it :D

In my computer, 'Control panel' is not figured under 'Start' button. Why? Any Spy/virus inside has hidden it?

And it could be the work of a virus, If you can't get to the control panel as i mentioned, then it is a virus for sure. But it has already done it's work. An antivirus can remove the virus but it can't fix it. I recommend you should format your PC. If not then run system file checker, it should repair any damaged system files

What your describing is also a user access level setting. I can't find any alerts about this on Symantec or Microsoft.
If you are underage (your parent is the administrator of the computer) they may have changed some of the permissions.
Company Computer: If this is not your computer (it belongs to your employer) you are probably a restricted user. It would be against company tech policy for you to change the settings they have put in place, and difficult if they've done it correctly. Believe me, there are reasons for it. End users may not like it much, but it decreases system risks and headaches. As long as it is not restricting your working ability, it will stay in place. If it truly is a problem, then contact IT department or have your supervisor contact them.
btw, a good IT department can lock your computer down so far that you can use only one program and access NONE of windows. (yes, even the log off/shutdown).

I would make sure you have a proper security suite (antivirus, firewall, antispyware, etc) installed from a reliable vendor (mcafee, norton, etc) properly configured and up to date. If so, perform a manual update, close out of all programs, run a complete scan.
If not, get one... and in the meantime run a web based scan from http://housecall65.trendmicro.com

redownload the drivers by using the cd that came with your computer and or you can go the website and download the drivers from there. I know I have a DELL and it sometimes happens. Steering wheel audio control buttons?
hi everyone, i just bought a chevrolet impala LS 2001. and it got some buttons on the steering wheel for audio control and cruise control .. after i bought it (used of course) i noticed that the audio control aren't working.. then i when i pressed hard on it.. it worked .. but not all the time.. i thought it would be just some dust i tried to clean it with some pressurised air.. it worked but with confusion.. when i want to raise the volume it changes the channel. and vice versa.. so anyway after some time the whole audio control buttons on the steering wheel stopped working.... however the cruise control still working fine without any problems.. what might be the problem??? and where should i fix it!!?? and how much should i expect to spend on fixing that!?? any advice will be great!

My language bar disappeared and when i go to control panel, the buttons are unclickable?

Att is for attenuator. It turns the volume down so you can have a conversation or whatever. There will probably be a pale blue wire which will activate this feature if connected to the mute wire on a hands free phone kit. You may find that you can activate it by briefly touching the on off button or something like that.

Run the full safety scanner, it takes a few seconds to install the scanning files but when you start the scan, it takes 2 hours or more. So once it starts to load x file of x you can leave the computer and go to bed etc.
Then at the end of the scan it asks you to set it running full time.
Think twice about setting it to run in the background as it could be another thing to slow you down. However, it may be worth while if you have no other security programs running.
Consider the following options:
I personally run Norton 360 which is full internet security and run superantispyware when I want to.
So if you don鈥檛 have a decent internet security program then perhaps run the superantispyware with your antivirus in the background.
If you sick of antivirus programs that don鈥檛 work perhaps run onecare full time and run superantispyware whenever.
Now you should be flying and Onecare has even set up a new system restore point for you.
Note onecare does other stuff as well. Click on the menus on the LHS column.

What is this button for. It does not split the screen. It seems to have no functionability. Tell me why. Because I think that possibly the batteries aren't dead and I just didn't make the electronic connection well enough and so I push harder to try to make the connection inside the remote more ';complete';. Also, sometimes I find that it's the angle that I'm holding the remote so I push harder and adjust the angle to once again try to get it to work.
For me, the remote control is more likely to stop working than the batteries are to run out. I've never had batteries die in a remote, but I've had to buy three remotes in the last three years because my kids keep spilling things in them. So for me, pushing harder on the buttons will sometimes squeeze enough of the orange juice, soda, ect...out for the button to make contact :D
Fortunately, when the remote breaks, my children are old enough to act as a substitute and change the channels for us.

It is a torrent. It makes it so you can only use your power button to turn it on, you have to go into menu to turn it off.

I have a huge problem with worrying...i have come to terms with the fact that i am a worry wart, but there is one thing that i just don't understand. i can lke a boy, a nd be completely into him, but as soon as i find out if he likes me back im instantly freaking out, thinking that i have to get away from him, that nothing can happen...usually this is followed by me finding something that i dont like about the boy and not letting it go until it completely kills all feelings i once had for this person.

Then you wont go on the retreat every time you find out a guy likes you. if your anything like me your doing this because you dont think your good enough for anyone. I kept on doing things to make my husband walk when we started going out. i kept ppushing him away and he would alway come back.
You think if you end up not liking them, then you wont get hurt if they find out what your really like (that negative image you have of you in your head).
You need to get rid of that negative image and then think okay im gonna go for it and if he doesnt end up liking me thats his fault for having poor taste!Help me i can't control my panic button!?
To be honest, I think that's a rather normal response. A lot of people can't help but feel flustered at the thought of the person they like and then feel the need to dissect every little thing. When it actually interferes with your ability to go about your daily life, then it becomes a problem, but if not, I wouldn't worry about it too much - you're not abnormal or anything ;) As for finding the right guy or not, I don't know if there's an actual answer for that. If there was an actual answer for that question, I think a lot of people would be a happier (or not?)

ActiveX is an application used on many websites. It will not harm your PC. Not downloading the ActiveX control may impair the way the website looks. Other than that, it will have no affect on your PC.

Can I assume you mean a button you find in windows XP, like the start button? If so just capture an image of the button. Press the print screen button (on your keyboard probably labeled PrtSc) to capture the entire screen containing the button and then paste into MS Paint. Cut out the image of the button and paste into a new ms paint file and save as a jpg. Now add an image control to your vb form (or a picture box control) set the image property to the jpg and double click the control and write the onclick event.

';Couch Potato's'; have been found to have amazing neuron activity coursing through their bodies when doing this. It also explains why we give and receive static shocks as we have developed this supernatural power.
If you are interested in finding out more I recommend reading Douglas Adam's ';The Meaning of Liff.'; Which gives you the description of the words for these actions. I personally like the meaning of the word ';Toronto.'; If you cannot find yours listed then you will have the privilege of naming it. The only drawback is it has to be a place name.

appearance and personalization and on the left it should say change desktop icons, click and check the recycle bin
right click on the desktop and select personalize...select desktop icons on the left side...check the box next to recycle bin. apply then ok...all done

Couldn't turn on tv converter box either by remote control or power on/off button on the converter, how to fix?
Plug something into the same power outlet and make sure that there is actually power to that outlet.
Leave your converter unplugged for a while and then plug it in to a know working electrical outlet. (Because there is a computer chip in the converter that might be locked up. Unplugging it for a while is like rebooting a computer.)

The system will need to have the Dell QuickSet software installed in order to see the volume bar when the buttons are pressed. The software can be downloaded from http://support.dell.com Once the page is loaded click on ';Drivers and Downloads';, and then put in the model or service tag of the system. After this loads there will be a list of drivers to choose, click ';Applications'; to expand the list and then Dell QuickSet. Once Dell QuickSet has been downloaded and installed it will correct the problem.

Camry 91 power windows button controls don't work?
I took out the driver's side door panel to check power motor. When I put my hand inside the door I moved a bundle of wires while at the same time pushing the control buttons. To my surprise the windows began to go up and down when I pressed the control buttons. But when I let go of the wires the controls did not work.Where is the problem? Is it the plug that plugs into the control panel or is a wire in the bundle which is broken. Can an expert out there pinpoint the problem. there is a short someplace in that wiring or try cleaning all the plug in terminals good to the motor and the control switch first to see if that works, if not you will have to follow the wires from the motor to the switch and if necessary replace just those wires.Camry 91 power windows button controls don't work?
You have a shortage in the wire that goes to the buttons. Take a pencil and paper and at the buttons write the colors of all the wires down. Draw a diagram of which wire is on which button. Then get you some wire and some electrical tape. Open the door and on the set of wires coming out of the door to the body of the car, remove the protective cover, take a small knife and skin back a small area of one of the same colored wires that connect to the buttons and twist one of the extra wires you have around it. Run the other end up to the buttons and tape on to the same colored wire. Try to see if windows work. Repeat this step one at a time until you find the faulty wire.Once you have found the wire with the short, just remove the old wire from the button and fix the new wire on. Twist the old wires end to the new wires end and pull It through the door. Then where you shaved off and tapped on to the old wire, cut it there and twist the new wire on. Oh yes, each wire you tape to that does not have the short in it, be sure to wrap it with the electrical tape. Also wrap the wire you fix with the tape as well. Replace the protective cover and the door panel and walla, you fixed it. Good Luck.
