Seriously, enough is enough. Imagine if the other guy had a gun, the theater would've been a bloodbath. Only the military and police should have guns. I live in Canada, we have gun control. We don't seem to have as many problems as the US.

Only the military an police should have guns? Sounds like Cuba, North Korea, Communist China and Nazi Germany.





When only the police and the military have firearms, people don't have to worry about crime. Nor do they have to worry about freedom.





Gun control is really people control.





We have government to protect our rights, not to destroy them. Government is supposed to put criminals away, not treat us all as criminals. If those in power can't tell the difference, they need to be replaced.





Firearms are too dangerous to trust to our politicians. Giving them a monopoly on firearms ownership is like hiring Bill Clinton to babysit your daughter.
I guarantee you that the man that shot the other guy is NOT a legally able gun owner or had bought the gun properly. And Chicago has a handgun ban only police are allowed to have handguns in the home unless you had them prior to 1982. Chicago has just hit 501+ murders this year...Does their form of gun control work?

And how would it be a blood bath if the other guy had a legal conceal carry permit, training on when and how, and if to use it.





There are millions of documented but not reported by the liberal media incidents where a gun saved the life of a family or person against an attack.





And again, what criminal willing to kill someone is going to listen to a ';no guns allowed'; rule.????

PS: military and police personnel are human too. They suffer the same things us ';normal'; citizens suffer from. They get angry, sad, etc. They have no Jedi-like mastery of a weapon that normal citizens cannot get. In fact I shoot better than most of the cop friends I have. I also go to the range more than they do.
Why should only the military have guns?





The problem with that argument is that the people with the guns will most likely abuse their power. If we all have guns, we cancel out such abuse.





If the entire public didn't have guns, then the police could use other means of detaining people since the risk would be less significant.... but unfortunately, guns exist and we have to learn to deal with it.





I'm anti-hand gun by the way... A rifle is one thing but a concealed weapon is something else.
You ask that question as if we don't already have gun control laws. I bought a rifle for my son this year, and had to have a background check before I could get it. We have gun control, it just doesn't work to control crime.





Amazing as this may seem, criminals don't tend to abide by gun control laws. I'm shocked. You'd think criminals would be more civilized (like they apparently are in Canada).





Maybe what we need are more criminal control laws in the US.
No person intent on murder would follow any man made gun control. What in the heck are you thinking? Do you think this creep would magically become law-abiding just because a gun control law is passed?! How could any gun control law have possibly stopped this from happening? If the victim had a gun he could have defended himself and shot that worthless scum and saved the tax payers thousands rather than all of us paying to keep him in jail.
I think society needs to go and take a good look at itself.





Case in point, overlooking the BIG problem and pointing fingers at the usual suspects.








Maybe we should outlaw motor vehicles? Look at all the fatalities from that in general.Then look at deaths from drunk drivers.....makes a pretty compelling statement.....but is it the right statement?
A friend of mine is a nurse in a shrink ward.





Guess what: Mental hospitals have strict rules concerning forks. They're prohibited.

Now he just made an argument for why gun free zones are stupid. It is simple math:





1 man with a gun VS. a bunch of unarmed people= target rich environment.
