i got a new laptop asus to be exact and i installed all the discs but the recovery disc but i dont think i need to install that and whenever i hit the volume buttons (mute lower sound highten sound)(f9 f10 f11) they dont work!!!New laptop volume control button doesnt work!?!?!?
they are probably broken or the computer is not recognizing that your pressing them. Just take it back to the store and see if they can do some maintenance on it and you don't need to do the recovery that is only if you need to recover like the computer is missing important files but if all does not work you could try the recovery cd maybe there is a file that your missing that recognizes those buttons and controls the volume
