Total control 4 universal TV remote. Trying to make menu and guide button work as they don't when pressed?

I need to change the the contrast on the TV as there is no direct contrast button . Want to access picture to adjust it via menu key.


I have tried setting up the Tv and DVD again and code is right as it does on/off/changing channels/volume but nothing on pressing these 2 keys what do I do now?Total control 4 universal TV remote. Trying to make menu and guide button work as they don't when pressed?
This is the problem with universal remote controls. They are handy for the basic functions of operation, however anything more complicated you will always struggle. I have had 3, and have always had to revert back to the original remotes.
