The chrome paintwork seemed to be coming off 'inside' of these seven little buttons and is very unsightly whenever the blue lights comes on!! A manufacturing defect?
Wear and Tear? Bought this Inspiron in July 2007 and is still new. No, I did not 'overwipe' it!
Does the warranty covers this?Dell Inspiron 1520 problem with the media control buttons.?
My guess is the paint used is affected by humidity.
You shouldn't have to worry about it falling off cause the buttons on my computer lost their chrome after I bought it a month ago.
They were painted gray and blue, over purple once it came off.
I don't think the warranty will cover it. If the labels are under the buttons, then it shouldn't matter if it's chromed or not, painting it yourself to your liking won't void a warranty.
If it really bothers you and the text WAS on the buttons, then give the customer support an e-mail or phone call.
