Why do people push harder on the remote control buttons when they know the batteries are low?

the same reason they talk louder when the other person doesn't speak their language! Why do people push harder on the remote control buttons when they know the batteries are low?
thanks for picking me! My wife and daughters do it all the time. I just get them new batteries and let them smile.

Why do people push harder on the remote control buttons when they know the batteries are low?
they think a connection is loose? maybe thier just stoopid
When they push the buttons harder, the remote moves and sometimes that causes the batteries to shift some. They get some energy and they work for a short period of time longer. I have done that many times. It is effective if you don't want to get up and get batteries.
For the exact same reason they plead to their car when it doesn't start, or shake the Bic when it doesn't light, or sqint to see when it's obviously too dark - sometimes, just sometimes, it seems to work!
Because they think that there's some electricity left in the remote and by pushing the button harder it gets some flow going. Kinda like CPR.
That's so true! Sounds like something Sienfeld might talk about in his routine!

I think that when the battery is low, sometimes if you keep pressing, you will eventually get that little spark of juice, enough to get the channel to change so you can avoid having to get up and either find a new battery or God forbid, actually go to the reciever and press a button on the TV itself!
Some times it actually works, because the receptors have better contact. Another trick is to open the battery cover and spin them in their place to change their position (or take them out and put them back in).
lol i bang my remote on the arm of the recliner lol lol lol lol lol........
the batteries are electric piles so they produce a bit more energy if they get warm....but how do you warm batteries up by pushing the buttons harder lmao?jeeze I cant answer you that....

ohh you cought me.......i do this all the time(*hides*)
In Theory they push them out of anger because they don't want to go find new batteries.
we think it'll make it work if we pressed harder.
to squeeze every last once of energy left in the batteries....they are organic, aren't they?
Why do some people put trivia questions in the philosophy category?
For the same reason they press harder on the brake pedal when their car goes into a skid. The want things to happen, but they are out of control, and don't know what to do.
to get it to work.stupidity I do it all the time. stupidity I

guess
Because it's the logical thing to do. Usually you can threaten the remote by pushing it's buttons and banging it on hard surface. Sometime that will convince it to give in. Those remotes never seem to learn their lesson.
To drain the rest of the juice. Haha.
It is just like speaking louder to a deaf person, or slower %26amp; louder to a person who doesn't speak the language.

No one knows, yet they still do it!
1. Lazyness

2. Maybe they dont know the remote works with batteries.
Because it helps. People wouldn't keep doing it if it wasn't an effective means to get the mote to work. Consider Pavlov's dogs in relation to this.
Because I'm to da*n lazy to get off my a** and go get the new batteries. I'm trying to get every last bit of juice out of the old ones. lol (guilty)
